Tennessee has 94 counties and 38 (40%) have been assigned Zone 1 counties by the EPA. Zone 1 counties have the highest potential to have homes test higher than 4 pCi/L. EPA regulates levels to be mitigated if levels are over 4 pCi/L. In many cases a level below 2 pCi/L can be reached after my mitigation fan is installed. Tennessee's state radon zone average is above normal and 1 out of 10 homes will need a radon mitigation system installed. In the Middle Tennessee area, some counties see 75% of homes with elevated radon levels. There’s an increased risk for all homeowners, which is why we recommend testing exposure levels at least twice a year especially in Nashville and neighboring cities.
